She's finally got it down. Talking is good. And to her Mommy it's simply the best thing ever. I've decided that I don't do so well in the starting to exert my independence but can't say anything other than no phase. Just being honest :)
What? My iPhone photo is blurry ... cute none the less :)
My mom says that I'm not documenting all the things Beetles has been saying over the last month or so. Her "language explosion" my mom calls it. It's true. I haven't been documenting. There's just so much. So here's my attempt to document a glimpse of little Beet's language explosion. My mom also says she's a genius. Just thought I should throw that in there :)
One morning about a week ago, Dominic and I were in our bedroom and we hear Corinne yelling "Dada!" from the other room. He hollers back "What Beetles?" ... to which she responded "NEED YOU!"
I mean, how can you not drop everything to respond to that request?
She says "Need you" a lot (but this was the first remote need you). That and "Hold me" are frequent requests. Some days I feel like we are in a constant state of "Hold me" ... everyone wants to be held all day long ... including me :)
When making a decision about something - like when choosing which box she wants down from the closet in the playroom - Corinne says "nama ... nama ...". Dominic finally figured out that "nama" is her "maybe"! "Nama .... that!"
Since putting up our pool (these pics are from the day we filled it up for the first time), she quickly learned how to say "swimming."
The number of song lyrics she knows continues to amaze me. While they are only about 80% recognizable, the Alphabet, Twinkle Twinkle, Happy Birthday, Edelweiss, and more never sounded cuter.
Dominic got the first "Love you" over the phone last week when he was out of town on a work trip.
I get "Mama! Mama! ... tricky" a lot. She says this when she's having trouble with something.
Her response to any loud noise like a motorcycle or fire truck driving by is "Woah. What's that?"
This morning Juliet was upset because I didn't want her to unroll the toilet paper by herself after she went to the bathroom (i.e. fill the toilet with toilet paper). She followed me out into the living room crying. Beetles had been playing in the playroom, but came out to see what all the commotion was. She walked up to Juliet and said "Stop it." I had a hard time not laughing at this point ... she then disappeared down the hallway ... and returned with Juliet's blankie! Such a sweet girl to try to make it better!
I could go on and on. From random requests like "Cookie please?" to asking for a fork at dinner the girl is a walking talking language explosion right now.
