hump day nuggets: little bits of the season in photos and words about the last week
Advance apology for the somewhat crappy iPhone pics throughout this post. It's all I got ...
Just after 7 this morning I heard Charlie's tail start to beat the floor at the end of the hallway. Corinne had opened her door and he was showing his enthusiasm for his little sister getting up. Dominic met her at her doorway and carried her into me in our bedroom. A few minutes later, Charlie's tail started beating again. Juliet was awake. The girls and I snuggled in bed while Dominic went to get their morning drinks of oj and chocolate milk. It was a sweet morning moment, the three of us all snuggled up in bed :)
Multiple people have asked me if the girls are twins lately. At first I thought it was kind of crazy - to me Corinne is my "baby" and seems so much smaller than Juliet - but I guess I can see it. They are both walking talking little people and when they are sitting next to each other in a shopping cart, I guess the 17 month difference isn't too noticeable. Still kind of funny though.
Watching a couple movies on Daddy's phone before bed.
We reached the 36 week mark this past Sunday. Hooray! Thanks to everyone who has been praying. It was a huge milestone as far as hospital stay for me and baby Luke - and not that we are home free yet (keep praying!) - but things are looking good. Have had a bit of a sore throat and other fun cold/virus symptoms this week, but feeling better everyday. Been going to bed early and trying to take it as easy as I can ... which is laughable some days as the girls keep me pretty darn busy :)
The weather is cool and crisp. This one lets herself outside to play. I have been trying my hardest to funnel her energy into helpful tasks around the house as she has lots of what I like to call "bad ideas" ... playing in Charlie's water bowl, covering her leg in diaper rash cream, drawing on the walls, etc, etc. This age is so delightful and exhausting all at the same time. She's a lot of sweet and a little sassy all bundled up into one often sand covered package.
The other night as I sang her a couple of songs before bed she leaned over and said "I love you". I responded "I love you" to which she responded "I love you too." Then she repeated her "I love you." and we had the same conversation ... it took me a few times before I realized that I wasn't responding correctly. After her next "I love you" I responded "I love you too." And she lay there quietly smiling at me. I had finally done it right :)
At 7pm as we were cleaning up the playroom this evening, Juliet informed me that it "was the middle of the night". I guess daylight savings makes it seem that way. Trying to adjust our play schedules to make sure we get outside before the sun goes down. This is kind of tricky as our spring/summer routine is to go outside after dinner with Daddy.
We painted for a little while today. I couldn't resist Corinne's request for "blue paint please Mommy." They painted elephants (so they say). We ended up with paint up to our elbows and they got a bonus mid day bath for their artistic efforts.
Here's a video of painting. These masterpieces are apparently for Aunt Dan and Uncle David :)
Note: Nugget format inspired by the very inspiring Nici over at Dig this Chick.
