- Juliet and I took a 6 week parent/child swim class. We did the lessons at St. Francis Health Zone with Lucy and her mommy and Juliet really enjoyed it. Having taught lessons for over 7 years I knew I didn't need to pay for lessons (I could sing those songs in my sleep), but it was a nice excuse to get in the water and play with friends. Plus the weather wasn't nice out yet so swimming outside wasn't an option. Juliet has always been a water baby so I wasn't surprised she loved going to the "swim pool". We had fun. She was the kid who wouldn't stop moving during the entire class - kicking her feet, blowing bubbles, trying to squirm out of my arms, squealing, etc, etc. All the other children stay still and look around ... not mine :) She can blow bubbles like a champ and doesn't mind going under the water. She won't just stick her head under, but if she happens to go under when she jumps in from the side (wink wink) she isn't upset in the least. I think she'd have just jumped and jumped over and over again if I'd have let her.
- We finally got to hear those 3 little words we've been waiting months to hear Juliet say ... "I wuve you!" Pretty much the sweetest thing ever. It was worth the wait :) It's the best when she says it to you spontaneously, but I love that she'll tell everyone that she loves them. She'll tell everyone she loves them when we leave my family's "I love you Grandma. I love you Deb. ... " she says it over the phone, she tells our Lincoln family over Skype. The girls got love in her heart and she can finally say it!!
- Juliet climbed out of her crib. Sigh. I knew my days were numbered with that little monkey but I'd hoped I had a few more months. Bedtime was so routine and easy and I just didn't want to mess with it. She had another idea. She'd been pushing up and leaning over the front railing for about a month , but she figured out if she did that at the corner she could hike her leg over the side ... thankfully she did it right when I put her in her crib so I was standing right there because I'm pretty sure she'd have hurt herself. I laughed. I couldn't help myself. We tried taking the front of her crib off for a few nights, but she was sleeping on the floor. I thought it might be because she couldn't fit her 20 stuffed animals on the mattress with her so put a queen size air mattress in there. That worked for a few nights, but now she's taken to sleeping right by the door. She plays for 30-45 min and then brings all of her "friends" one by one over to the door and sleeps there. I guess it's fine, but I feel bad she's sleeping 10 hours on the floor ... has anyone had this problem? Any good ideas for me?
