I couldn’t sleep last night. After an hour and a half of lying in bed (at 1:30am) I wanted to cry because I couldn’t fall asleep and I knew I’d be tired and miserable today. I know I got a little sleep between 1:30 and 3:55 when I heard B and a little more sleep after I laid her back down at 4:20. The day hasn’t been too bad though. No nap for me because the girls’ naps just didn’t align themselves quite right for that today (of course).
A few random thoughts about the girls.
J’s speech continues to develop like crazy, making her sound even more grown up. There are lots of words where to date she has only pronounced the first syllable - like Elmo, grandma, blanket, etc. - but lately has been saying the entire word clearly. “Charlie” even sounds like Charlie when she says it! Sentences are growing in length and complexity as well as conversations she has with us and her toys. My sister was here today and we discussed the fact that it will be sad when she actually says her name and not “Buh Buh” … but she pointed out the fact that my parents call her that now … so I guess the nick name is safe for now!
Sometimes when I lay B down in her crib, I tear up. That girl is getting so big. My baby. You know you don’t have a baby anymore when you cradle them and their legs wrap around your body :) At least she still likes to be cradled in my arms. I know I don’t have much longer …
