My surgery. I can't talk about it ... at least not yet. Hopefully after I talk to the doctor next Monday I'll have some sort of resolution to the rather perplexing state I'm in. The bone is still there. He left the bone. Told you I was perplexed ...
But I survived and am feeling fine, extra bone and all.
I had given up on potty training late last week because my post-surgery foot was just not keeping up with the pee and J wasn't seeming motivated. I thought we were almost there (we'd had like 3 great days in a row), but we weren't and I'm not in a hurry.
But today the girl would not keep her diaper on! She kept taking it off and telling me, "Mommy, I'm mekkid!". If I left the room for one minute, no diaper, when I went to get her after her nap*, no diaper, and the list goes on and on. To make matters even more interesting, we had more incidents today than we've ever had - pee on the floor, pee on the couch, poop on the rug, poop in the bath tub. There was pee and poop EVERYWHERE today. I'm exhausted. No pictures or videos today cause she was mekkid all day long!
* I should note that "nap" time isn't usually nap time anymore. She hasn't been taking naps most days, but I let her rest/play in her room for 30 minutes or so to give her the opportunity to sleep if she is tired. To summarize, she was going to bed late (10pm), so we tried to bump her schedule back an hour (by getting her up an hour earlier). After 2 months of trying this, she was doing fine - not grumpy, napping, going to bed at 9, etc - but she was never waking up at that earlier time (7:15am) which to me said that she was still not getting the right amount of sleep. One morning a couple weeks ago, Dominic left and didn't wake me up and by some miracle we all three slept till after 8am. That day, J didn't nap, did great, and went to bed at 8pm and woke the next morning BY HERSELF at 8:15. Praise the Lord! So, she needs about 12 hours of sleep total these days. If she gets less at night, she'll likely need a nap, and if not, then she is fine to play all day long and hit the sack at 8. Kind of weird not having her up so late ... weird in a really nice way :)
