I'm in disbelief that she's 7 months old today. It's been a great month. It FLEW by with the holidays ... here are some highlights:
- J mastered sitting up on Jan 2nd. She still falls over from time to time, but I can leave her sitting surrounded with toys to play!
- J can get just about anywhere by rolling and rolling and rolling ...I turn my head and she's managed to move herself across the room ... the girl may never crawl :)
- J loves tags on things. She can always find them and ends up playing with the tag rather than the toy for what the toy was intended to do (rattle, crinkle, etc.).
- J's hair has started to look like it might have some curl or wave to it the longer it gets (though I am still keeping it trimmed in an ear length bob until it's one color).
- J's eyes are still a dark blue with some hazel in the middle. The books say they should be their permanent color by her first birthday, so we'll see what happens over the next 5 months.
- J took her first big girl bath this month. She outgrew the little one, so we moved her to the big one with a towel on the bottom. She just lay there, happy as can be, splashing around, ears underwater and everything! She plays with toys, rolls from side to side, and after a couple weeks even started rolling over to her tummy (with a little help to make sure her face doesn't go under). I can't wait to take her to the pool!
- J likes our electric toothbrushes. At first she just stared at them, then she got the courage to actually touch one, and then of course she had to put it in her mouth :) She now has her own toothbrush head and brushes her gums every couple days.
- We started food right before J turned 6 months, but she's now eating green beans, peas, carrots, sweet potatos, squash, bananas, and rice cereal. We've also tried pears and peaches, but she wasn't a fan so I plan to try again later.
- J loves books, and I'm not sure if she really has a favorite toy at this point. Christmas toys were great because they were new (hadn't been in her mouth before).
- Toward the end of the month, J started getting up on her hands and knees. Eeeeek! I'm enjoying my last days/weeks before she's mobile!
I've got a Christmas Extravaganza post in the works as I haven't really talked about it yet, so look forward to that, but in the mean time here are some pictures!
Juliet is SO PRECIOUS! We love love loved these photos. The bath picture of her with her hair half underwater was HYSTERICAL. Keep eating, sitting up, and rolling, girl!
ReplyDeleteHer hair is getting so light! I can't believe she is sitting up already. I loved that moment, b/c then it means they can play a bit easier.
