eight months old

It's been another great month around here. Juliet gets bigger and cuter every day. Her little personality and temperament continue to come out and it is so neat to watch. She's sweet and happy, content, observant, takes some time to warm up to new people, independent, and of course smart :)

  • First tooth!! And she wasn't even fussy about it - horray! Bottom left. Toothy grins are cute.
  • J really likes to walk assisted everywhere. This is probably her preferred means of transportation. Still working on crawling, but walking is sooooo much better ;)
  • J pulled up once from a seated position to standing grabbing onto an upside down laundry basket. Hasn't done it since, but I'm sure these days are quickly approaching. She does pull up on Charlie from seated to on her knees quite a bit. Charlie LOVES this :)
  • J loves to be outside and the weather is finally starting to cooperate. She likes to sit and play with the grass, sticks, etc.
  • J took her first official trip to the park and LOVED the swing. I was a little nervous when I put her in and gave her a push (mostly because I probably pushed a little too hard for a first timer), but she gave me a big smile :)
  • I don't know how to describe it, but J likes to scrunch her nose up and breath in and out really fast ... she does it when she's happy and excited about something.
  • J continues to be a good eater so long as she's self feeding. We just dump everything on her tray and let her go at it. Usually I can feed her something (e.g. applesauce, yogurt) as long as she has something on her tray to do all by herself. Her favorites include blueberries, puffs/cheerios/bread, rice, and turkey. I made a grilled ground turkey and cheese sandwich one day and she really liked it.
I don't know if it's because she's sitting up now or trying to walk with help or what, but she's definitely looking more and more like a little person and less and less like a baby! Here are some pictures from J's eighth month:
