snow day

There are still traces of our Christmas Eve snow on the ground in T-town. I can't remember the last time a snowfall hung around this long. It's been record cold around here and with a newborn around the house we've been inside a lot and certainly haven't been outside tromping around in the snow.

That's what Grandma's are for! My mom called me on New Year's Day and asked if Juliet had been out in the snow and when I answered no informed me that they would be over to take her out. She doesn't have any snow clothes ... that doesn't matter she told me.

Grandma, Aunt Deb, and Deb's friend Christina came over that afternoon to play in the snow and build a snowman with Juliet. She had on 3 layers of clothes on to make up for the fact that we don't own a snow suit and as far as snow boots - we improvised - Target bags over her shoes to keep her tootsies dry (Poor man's snow boots! We did this growing up!).

She had a blast and wanted to check on her snowman constantly for a few days. I guess it was a good thing he didn't melt away the next day!
