In March ...
- Juliet started potty training herself. Seriously. She started telling me "change shooie shooie diaper" or "get new diaper." At first she'd just tell me about #2, but after a few days I noticed she was telling me about #1 as well. On March 12th, the day before she turned 21 months, she happened to tell me "change shooie shooie diaper" before she went so we went into the toilet and she went!!! Later that day she told me "Go potty" and she went again! NOTE: Since I'm blogging about a few months after the fact, I can tell you that this was a one month phenomenon ... in April she decided that pooping her pants was just fine again!
- We got to play outside. The weather warmed up enough that Juliet could venture out to the great outdoors to play in the bark, run around in the brown grass, play with the helicopters from our neighbors tree, etc. Little C enjoyed her fair share of time outside in her bouncy seat as well.
- We went to the aquarium again. Aunt Deb came along. We saw the turtles and ran around crazy looking at the fish.
- We went to SESAME STREET LIVE! It was amazing, just look at the picture of me gawking at all of our favorite monsters dancing and singing up on stage. At the end of the first number, the lights went out and Juliet gave a concerned "More?!" ... whew, good thing it was a 2 hour show! Funny thing was that there was this Hard Rock Hotel advertisement out in the lobby area of the BOK center that had a huge guitar. Juliet loved this guitar and during the second half of the show just wanted to be out with the guitar ... so we ended up leaving a bit early so sweet girl could stand at the base of it and shout "HUGE GUITAR!" When we got home to Grandma and C, what did Juliet report she'd just seen? A huge guitar of course :)
- We went up to Lincoln for Annie's (Dominic's youngest sister) wedding shower. It was a great trip and I sure wish I had pictures to show you, but as it turns out I seem to stink at taking photos when we are out of town. There's a few shots ... mostly from the car ride home after I realized that I hadn't taken any photos of the weekend. The wedding is coming up over Memorial Day weekend so I'm determined to do better :)
- We went to the ZOO - twice ... maybe three times. I don't remember. Juliet loves the zoo. We had never been before (shame on me ... I know). She was so excited when we were there. I'd ask her what animal she wanted to see and she'd respond with whatever animal - say elephant - and I'd say "ok!" It's like you could see her little brain processing "ok ... REALLY - I CAN GO SEE AN ELEPHANT!" After our visit, for days she'd ask to go to the zoo and if you even mentioned it she'd start in with the following "Go zoo?!? See elephant, zeeee (zebra), oo-oo-ah-ah, giraffe, penguin, glub glub, baaa baaa sheep ..." Hilarious.
- During one of our trips to the zoo we met up with sweet Laura Kate and the two girls gazed at the animals together. At the petting zoo, I fed Corinne a bottle while Juliet went in to see the goats, sheep, etc. with Laura Kate and her mommy. I wasn't sure how she'd do without me, but was pleasantly surprised when she plopped down right next to a goat and started petting it. It's like it was Charlie. No big deal. The girl loves animals.
- March was kind of a crazy month for Corinne. Mid month, we were attacked by the gas monster. I stopped pumping mid month and shortly after the transition to 100% formula (she had been getting some formula since birth) it was scream time all the time. Poor thing. She spent a lot of time in the football hold and we started hunting for a good solution to the problem - different formula, bottle, etc, etc. It worked itself out but was a rough couple weeks. Working on a post entitled "got milk?" with details on all of C's feeding fun ...
- C is flexible and easy going when she's not plagued by gas pain. She's up for 2 hrs max at a time and then takes a little snooze through out the day. Sleeping longer stretches at night some of the time. Loves to watch Juliet and Charlie. Loves her pacifier. Loves snuggling. I love that my girls are snuggle bugs.
- C's eyes are a brighter blue than J's ever were before they turned brown. I'm kind of thinking we might just have a blue eyed babe :)
