I swear babies just wake up bigger sometimes! It's like they've grown overnight. B woke up babbling a bit yesterday. For a second I thought maybe J was waking up as all I could hear from the kitchen was soft "ba ba ba (squeal) ba ba". Just like all things baby, one day they are just different - they can smile, sit up, babble when they couldn't the day before. Amazing really. I always get kind of sad too. Like I just would have liked to know the day before so I could really treasure that last day of whatever the sweet thing was. I guess the lesson is that you have to treasure every day! I try really hard to do that.
So, in the spirit of treasuring all sweet baby things, here are a few little things our little B has been doing lately.
She's sitting like a pro and loves to shake things. J was a biter/chewer and B is a shaker. The pure delight in her face when she shakes something and it makes noise is too sweet for words. It's like she's won the lottery. The best is when she's got 2 different rattles - one in each hand - and just goes to town :) She started to rock back and forth on her hands and knees when we were at the lake with my family at the end of July so I know my days are numbered until she starts crawling. For now, she's rockin' and rollin' and also started pushing up into a kind of "downward facing dog" yoga position only on her toes.
Ouch if you ask me but she doesn't seem to mind!
B also does this cute thing with her wrists. She holds her arms out the sides and twists her wrists back and forth. I don't know how else to describe it but it is pretty funny. She is just starting to enjoy books and really likes the books we have with pictures of other babies. I guess she thinks they are her friends or something :)
A few pictures to share from the other day. Juliet likes to play in these canvas bins in her room and insisted that B wanted to get in one as well. Apparently she was right as she was all smiles once I put her in there :)
